By John Honeywell on Apr 15, 09 11:35 PM in Cruise destinations
Newly-announced 2010 itineraries for Thomson Cruises will take passengers to the
eastern Mediterranean, with regular voyages starting from Marmaris in Turkey.
The popular Thomson Celebration, which this summer is sailing in the Adriatic
and the Aegean, will next year cruise to Izmir, Santorini, Alexandria in Egypt
and Ashdod in Israel, with fares starting from £779 per person including flights
and transfers.
Thomson Spirit will transfer from Palma, Majorca, to the Greek island of Corfu,
sailing to Venice, Dubrovnik, Kotor in Montenegro, Athens and Rhodes, with fares
starting at just £579.
Thomson destiny will be sailing three itineraries from Palma, with flights from
14 UK airports and fares from £699.
The line's smallest ship, Calypso, will be taken out of service at the end of
this year.
UK director of cruising David Selby says: "Our new summer 2010 programme
reaffirms our belief that the eastern Mediterranean is the next cruising hotspot
for the UK market."
That means in popularity as well as the weather.
